Mark Vanstone is a respected senior trial lawyer who has been providing legal counsel and expertise to his clients and his community for over 25 years. His skill, expertise, knowledge and dedication have been acknowledged and appreciated by both clients and the community he serves through numerous appointments to provincial tribunals, committees and governing boards.
Mark has been regularly called upon to serve in significant positions in the legal community and within the province. Currently Chair of the Saskatchewan Police Commission, Mark is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, lawyer and owner at Vanstone Law in Saskatoon. Throughout his career, he has held significant roles within the legal community and the province.
Some of his notable past positions include:
- President, Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association, publishing numerous articles in its periodical, The Advocate, and for the National Criminal Law Program
- Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Saskatchewan Polytechnic (formerly SIAST)
- Legal counsel for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Licensing Commission
- Legal counsel for the Discipline Committee of the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association
- Chair of the Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission Appeals Committee.
Mark represents clients across Saskatchewan and elsewhere, having conducted civil and criminal legal cases in Alberta and Saskatchewan at all court levels, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
